We chose “Art in Fashion” because the creator did such a great job of integrating so many different elements from—from cheese and wine and a dress and shawl to a gilded mirror and contemporary art—all in the same chic color scheme and a really well presented tableau. Any time someone can wedge a David Hicks geometric print ottoman into the mix with that ikat pillow—AND an Elizabeth and James carnelian ring or Melissa Braniff Byzantine cuff, I’m all over it.
Still, we had a really hard time choosing a winner because there were so many really creative entries. I totally adored “Modern Gentleman in Spring.” It was a wonderful narrative even without the text (which I also adored), and bravo for hunting down those bits of color (to brighten up the gray skies) and the completely clever baseball cufflinks to underscore the spring theme. I wanted to grab an umbrella and go walking with this guy.
But everybody included elements we were drawn to (the orange, nude, and pink combo of “Taigan.com”; the fun items in “Bling Beach”) so again, it was tough choosing and we were totally impressed by the number of top-notch entries.

Definitely one of my top three faves – definitely some Polyvore super users here!
Thanks for the honorable mention for ‘Modern Gentleman’, Julia! It was fun to put together. Guess I’ll have to keep saving for those boots, though… Cheers!
